Walking for Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
Sixty miles in three days. On foot. In late October. In Texas. It could be a toasty eighty degrees. Or a chilly thirty degrees. Texas weather has a mind of its own. So do the blisters. They show up whenever they feel like it and stay until days after you stop walking. Award-winning photographer Kris Hundt already knows blisters after only a month of training walks.
Kris has a reason to endure the blisters. She’s committed herself to completing the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. She’s walking for her two moms, Pat and Pat. Isn’t that weird? Her mom and her best friend’s mom are both named Pat.
Kris also has a cheerleader. His name is Craig Keeland. When he learned that Kris was going to walk sixty miles in three days to raise money for the Komen Foundation, he was the first to say, “My company, ViaViente, will sponsor Kris on her amazing journey. I can imagine walking ten miles. Even twenty. But to get up the next day when you’re exhausted from the first day of walking twenty miles and do another twenty, and then another twenty the day after that is unbelievable!”
As part of her training, Kris is drinking the ViaViente product that Craig first envisioned creating back in 1991. ViaViente’s antioxidant rich whole fruit blend is Kris’ secret weapon.
