Some people live in the past with all their mistakes so they repeat them again and again. Others had success in the past and are still “in that moment” so they will never grow beyond the past. You are never what your batting average WAS. Only WHAT IT IS TODAY. You cannot change the past and you cannot control the future. The only control you have over your life is IN THE NOW—which changes the future.

After he was voted MVP and the Boston Celtics had just won the world championship, Larry Byrd was asked if he was going home to French Lick, Indiana, to relax. He said, “No. After looking over my year, I’ve decided that I could be better. I am going on a weight training program so I CAN BE BETTER NEXT YEAR. The champions of the world always want to get better. That is what makes them the best. Larry Byrd never once worried about the shot he missed, or the bad game he played. HE WAS ALWAYS IN THE NOW.
